In Bodø there is also a touch of Italy with Via Querinissima, the historic route of the Venetian captain Pietro Querini who, shipwrecked in Røst – Lofoten – in 1432, came into contact with the local culture and returning to Italy brought with him the precious stockfish from where the tradition of cod was born.
Marcialonga Arctic Ski Race
On 9 March Bodø2024 hosts the first edition of the Marcialonga Arctic Ski Race (42 km, 09.03.24) which becomes part of the Ski Classic races together with the very Italian Marcialonga (70 km, 28.01.24), the Norwegian Birkebeinerrennet (54 km, 16.03.24) and to the Swedish Vasaloppet( 90 km, 03.03.24).
